Next up is this seldom seen original Belgian movie poster from the original release of Erle Kenton's comedy,
Pardon My Sarong
. In this film Abbott and Costello play two bus drivers who accidentally steal their own bus. As fugitives, they tag along with a playboy on a boat trip that finds them on a tropical island where a jewel thief has sinister plans for them. This poster is from the film's first release in Belgium soon after the end of the war in Europe. It probably dates to late 1945 or early 1946 since it bears the Universal Pictures logo (which disappeared in mid 1946) and is printed on the reverse of a 1943 ordnance map because of post-war paper shortages. It is in very strong condition for its age and rarely (if ever) comes up for sale or auction.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN/SIZE: Belgium  14.5" x 22.5"
CONDITION:
Very Good Untrimmed Folded Condition. Untrimmed top white border has a number of very small holes and pinholes. Additional pinholes are evident in the surrounding white borders. Some crinkling of paper since this poster previously saw duty as a WWII ordnance map which is printed on the reverse. Slightest of yellowing to paper. Artwork is vivid and completely intact. Folded as originally issued, this poster has been stored flat for 24 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube.
