Here is a very rare and striking Belgian movie poster for the original release of the Paramount Technicolor sci-fi classic,
Dr Cyclops
. The film starred Albert Dekker as the bespectacled madman with support from Thomas Coley, Janice Logan and Victor Killian. Directed and produced by the team that created the original
King Kong
, this film was nominated for an Academy Award for it's innovative special visual effects.  This poster is from the film's original Belgian release shortly after the end of the war in Europe (probably 1946 or 1947). It is linenbacked and in very nice condition after nearly 75 years. This is a beautiful example of Belgian movie poster art. I have not seen another copy come up for sale or auction since the Christie's auction (Zreik Collection) in 1998.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN/SIZE: Belgium  15" x 20.5" (on linen)
CONDITION:
Good to Very Good On Linen.  Prior to backing, this poster was folded and trimmed on all four sides, but printer and country of origin information remain in bottom border. There is an overall yellowing and mottled look to the poster after 75 years. This may be inherent to the poster art. Artwork is intact but there are signs of prior folds and creases apparent to the trained eye even after the backing process. This poster has been stored flat for the past 20 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube.
