20th Century Fox Original Italian 79x55 Poster for the Irving Cummings directed film BELLE STARR (1941) starring Gene Tierney, Randolph Scott, Chill Wills, Dana Andrews, John Shepperd, Shepperd Strudwick, and Elizabeth Patterson. Art of the wedding scene by Averado Ciriello is completely different from the American posters. Tierney was young and an up-and-coming presence at 20th Century Fox when this film was made. The film recounts, in Hollywood fashion of course, the life of one of the most famous female western outlaws. This poster, which is quite rare, was used in an Italian cinema. It was discovered in 2017. The poster is in need of restoration, but we feel quite confident that it would present beautifully if conserved. Colors are vivid. However, it is smudged in some places and needs to be washed, cleaned and de-acidified. We recommend linen-backing for the poster. Ask us about poster conservation services.
